People are Paramount

Careful selection of partners is the key to Campfire Adventure's success. Campfire has known and worked with many of the best in their fields for fifteen to twenty years. Here is a selection of some of the guides you are likely to meet on a Campfire Adventure.

Pasi and Anna

Pasi and Anna who lead the guide team for our Arctic Husky Safari have between them skied to the South Pole, led a paraplegic skiing expedition across Greenland, excelled in Adventure and Endurance Racing, opened new climbing routes and kayaked through many regions of the world. Pasi and Anna are the perfect hosts to ensure your safari runs smoothly and safely in this wild part of the world.

Simone

After many years travelling between Switzerland and Scandinavia guiding tours, Simone settled in Finland in 2003 to run husky safaris along the Russian border. This is one of the best cared-for, happiest team of willing, working huskies. It is also one of the most comfortable husky safari lodges, with great food.

Ajeet

Ajeet is one of the very few adventurers to have skied to both the North Pole and to the South Pole. He has rafted and kayaked some of the most challenging rivers spanning six continents.

Grant

Following in the footsteps of four generations of explorers and safari guides in the Okavango, Grant's passion for the Delta is evident to all his guests on safari. An afternoon's walk with Grant is more informative than days with many other guides.

Alan

Alan led many safaris and expeditions throughout Asia, the Middle East, Russia, the Caribbean and Africa. He also managed safari lodges in the Okavango Delta, Botswana.

In 1994 Alan returned to the UK and started Campfire Adventures, organising horse riding safaris and husky dogsledding holidays. With Reijo Jaskeleinen, the World Champion Siberian Husky dogsledder, Campfire pioneered the week-long format of touring husky safaris. Campfire Adventures built such a reputation in the dogsledding world that it was invited to organise the European Sleddog Championships on behalf of ESDRA, the governing body of the sport in Europe.

Contingency planning and a dedication to making things run smoothly and safely are the skills that Alan brings to every holiday and event that Campfire organises.
